What is a 4473? ATF Form 4473 is the Firearms Transaction Record. It is the form a buyer fills out when buying from a licensed dealer like Mark's Outdoors. Under the new ruling, we are taking 4473s for suppressor purchases.
What is a NICS check? NICS is the National Instant Criminal Background Check System. When you fill out the 4473, we run your information through NICS to confirm you are eligible to buy.
What is a Form 4? A Form 4 is the ATF application used to transfer certain regulated items. We still require a Form 4 for SBRs (short barreled rifles), SBSs (short barreled shotguns) and AOWs (any other weapons), and those purchases still go through the Form 4 process.
