Why folks drive to Mark's for this
Deer Day is not a big box sale, and we are not a big box store. The folks working the floor that weekend hunt the same woods you do. So if you are not sure whether a lock on or a climber fits your setup, or which scope makes sense for the way you hunt, just ask. Helping folks get ready for the season is the best part of this time of year for us.
Customers come to us from Tuscaloosa, Anniston, Gadsden, Cullman and all over central Alabama, and Deer Day is the weekend it is worth the drive.
Get ready for opening day
A few things worth handling now rather than the week before the opener:
- Hang your stands early. Getting into the woods now lets the deer settle back into pattern well before opening day.
- Check your straps and safety harness. Ratchet straps and harnesses wear out. If yours have been on a tree all year, replace them.
- Get cameras out. Eight weeks of pictures before the opener tells you a lot more than eight days.
- Sight in. Do it now, while the range is not packed and while you still have time to fix a problem.
- Restock the small stuff. Batteries, SD cards, rangefinder, knives, drag rope, field dressing gloves.
Alabama deer season 2026 and 2027 dates
For most of central Alabama:
- Gun season opens: November 21, 2026
- Bag limit: three per hunter across all combined seasons, and one of the three must carry at least four antler points an inch or longer on one antler
Zones and dates vary across the state, so check the current regulations at Outdoor Alabama before you head out, and make sure your license is current.
