LAKE RUSSELL IS DOWN 3.7 FEET, 85 DEGREES

Bass fishing is fair. Fish up the Savannah River and Rocky River and hit the small feeder creeks. With cooler nights, the bass will move up a little and the water temperatures might be cooler than down on the main lake. Jigs and three foot Carolina rigs are fair but you need to slow down. Three and four inch tubes are also working in the thicker brush piles in nine to twelve feet and deeper. Rig the tubes Texas style and don't peg the sinker. Add some Spike-It Dip-N-Glo in the garlic scent to the tip of the tails. If the clouds move in, go to a darker color jig, tube or worm. Keep a top water bait like the Zara Spook Jr ready in case the fish surface feed.
