WEST POINT LAKE IS FULL, CLEAR & 86 DEGREES

Bass fishing is still fair to slow. There are some decent largemouth being caught with some being around five pounds. This week we went up lake fishing with a 1/4 ounce spinnerbait in a shad pattern and caught some really good spots. We were fishing this bait around the blow downs and rocks in and around the pockets up Yellow Jacket and the river. The only bait we caught some largemouth on was a 3/8 ounce brown and purple Picasso jig in 5 to 9 feet of water. We fished this same pattern up the river and had the same luck. We never fish down lake this week because we focused on the stained water. Shakey head is still working great lake wide but you will catch a bunch of short fish throughout the day.

Hybrid and striper fishing has been great this week. The fish can still be caught on live shad down lake but this week focus has been on the schooling fish lake wide. It doesn't matter were you go on the lake because they are everywhere. The most popular places to start is in front of Pine Road Park and also at the mouth of the river by the Indian mound. All bait are working but Pop-N corks and Rooster Tails are proven to be superior over all else.

Crappie fishing is still on the slow side. Fish under the bridges at night with floating or hydro glow lights is this best way to catch fish right now. Minnows are working the best just make sure you fish different depths of the water to find the schools.
