GUNTERSVILLE aug. 2008 CHRIS JACKSONCapt. Chris JacksonFins-N-Grins Freshwater Adventures 205-706-2425 http://www.finsngrinsfishing.com "no man ever died wishing he had spent more time at the office." -Malcom ForbesSubject: Guntersville, Alabama Submitted by FINS -N- GRINS FRESHWATER ADVENTURES Date Fished: 8/3/2008 Water Temperature: 90 Water Clarity: 2-3 feet Got up river Sat. toward Bridgeport looking for my clients some frog fish for a small Tournament they have every year up there. Well the fish were slow in the morning but once the sun got out and heat got up kermit was not safe at all. They flat stroked em' only missing a couple of fish. It is wild how the river fishes so different up there compaired to the lower end. I love to get up there some but it is a drive. We did use regular frogs due to the Mask frog not being on the market in the US but, they did get to toss it some and see the difference in the way the fish take the bait. All in all a great trip with some great clients I have enjoyed fishing with several years. Today I got out for a couple of hours on the lower end working on some deeper water tactics. The fishing on topwater this morning was awsome on the SK Grande' and after the bie died went deep. I used Omega 1oz. football head jigs(green pumkin) with a black Netbait trailer. Also worked the cross tail shad for awhile with it catching better numbers but the jig getting the bigger fish. I did have several spots that were solid on the cross tail(Ayu). Only fished a little while and then ran out of the heat to get some other things done. Hope everyone had a great weekend and looking foward to a great week. The heat is going up all week but the fishing should stay good reguardless. I have several days left in Aug for anyone wanting to learn the deeper bite on Guntersville. The rat bite should be getting better and better as the month goes on. God Bless Phil.4:13
